Hoffman Natural Eyewear
Hoffman Natural Eyewear was founded in Germany 1978 by Josef Hoffman.
At that time, Hoffmann was fascinated by buffalo horn and, in recognising its being ideal for the making of spectacle frames and possessing the requisite courage and necessary know-how, began hand crafting then.
Since then, and having grown to a team employing some 90 people, Hoffman Natural Eyewear have stuck to their roots; handcrafting exquisite spectacles from natural horn and wood.
We are proud to have and continue being their exclusive Australian partner for the better part of a decade.
The water buffalo is an indispensible part of agricultural life in many parts of the globe, used as a four-legged tractor to pull ploughs and harrows, aid in carrying water and threshing grain, and pull carts.
The water buffalo is also essential for the inhabitants of the rice-growing regions of Asia. In addition to their muscle-power, the animals provide milk, leather and their valuable horn as by-products.
As the water buffalo is an honoured animal and extremely important for the people living in these countries, it is a matter of course that the buffalo are not killed for their horn.
